Become more involved with the Pavek Museum through rewarding opportunities as a Volunteer!

Do you love sharing stories, sparking curiosity, and connecting people with history and technology? Volunteering at the Pavek Museum of Electronic Communication might be just the thing for you.

We’re looking for friendly, enthusiastic folks to help bring the museum to life—whether that’s guiding tours for school groups and visitors, leading a variety of hands-on educational programs, helping to care for our collection of unique artifacts, or helping make our special and seasonal events unforgettable.

Volunteer helping teach at Pavek Museum

Why Volunteer with the Pavek Museum?

  • Learn and share the history, science, and technology with students and visitors.
  • Help care for one of the largest collections of electronic communication artifacts in the world.
  • Training and continuing education in collections, education, development, and more offered
  • Receive a complimentary Pavek Museum membership (free for the first year, then renewed each year after the completion of 30 hours or more)
  • Volunteer Appreciation Night in the Fall and a Volunteer and Staff Social in the spring.

Volunteer Training & Orientation

We accept volunteer applications on a rolling basis! After the application process, some roles can begin shortly after a brief orientation, while others—such as Docent/Education or Collections positions—require specialized training offered twice a year. See below for upcoming training and orientation dates.

Docent Training & Orientation:

  • Tuesday, March 10, 2026, 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. 
  • Tuesday, August 25, 2026, 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. 

Collections Training & Orientation:

  • Tuesday, March 03, 2026, 9:30 a.m – 12:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, August 29, 2026, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

To volunteer with the Pavek Museum of Electronic Communication, please complete the application form below. Submission of an application does not guarantee acceptance into the Volunteer Program. Applicants may be asked to complete an interview and a background check is required of all volunteers.
