Connecting Conversations: Island Tinkerers

January’s presentation features Dr. Honghong Tinn, author of Island Tinkerers: Innovation and Transformation in the Making of Taiwan’s Computing Industry. Dr. Tinn will talk about the critical history of how hobbyists and enthusiasts in Taiwan, including engineers, technologists, technocrats, computer users, and engineers-turned-entrepreneurs, helped transform the country with their hands-on engagement with computers. She will touch on the history of Taiwanese electronic manufacturing industry and their United States investors, competitors, and allies.

This event is free with the price of Pavek Museum admission. Registration is encouraged, but not required.
