Thursday, August 31 - Saturday, December 30: The Duluth Karpeles Museum presents "Samuel Morse and the Invention of the Telegraph and the Morse Code." This new exhibition portrays the development of the first single wire telegraph transmission and efforts to turn this new technology into a reality. 902 East First Street, Duluth, Minn. (218) 728-0630

Saturday, January 13, 2018, 2:00 pm: The Minnesota DX Club meets here the second Saturday of the month, January through June, and November. Want to learn more about short-wave and broadcast band reception? This is the group for you.

Tuesday, January 16, 7:00 pm: The Audio Society of Minnesota hosts their annual "Bring and Brag" music fest. They encourage you to bring an interesting recording or two to listen to, as always, on their "Mostly Minnesota Made" system. They can accommodate many digital disc formats on their multi-format player and they also have an excellent turntable to play your (clean) vinyl records.

The Audio Society meets here the third Tuesday of the month, eight times a year; January through May, then September through November. Stop in for great presentations about the latest in audio.

Thursday, February 1: This is the deadline for nominations for the 2018 Minnesota Broadcasting Hall of Fame.

Sunday, February 18, noon: The Northland Antique Radio Club and the Pavek Museum present the Annual Radio Workshop. Stop in on the 110th anniversary of Joe Pavek’s birthday and share your skills with other radio collectors and hobbyists.

Saturday, March 31: The spring semester of VRS class begins here at the Pavek. There are still spots open for the spring semester, so call to sign up now!

Sunday, April 15, 4:00 pm: The Norwegian Explorers perform another Sherlock Holmes adventure, “Death on the Scottish Express.” Don’t miss it!

May 18-19: Radio Daze 2018 sponsored by the Northland Antique Radio Club and the Pavek Museum. This year’s guest speaker is Hall of Fame radio personality John Hines. Since John is a veteran of 45 years in Twin Cities broadcasting, including stations WWTC, KSTP, WLOL, K-102, and currently WCCO, this should be a great presentation. The Comfort Inn Plymouth and the Pavek Museum have been booked!
